I’m Eff, living the empty nest life with my best friend hubby in Alberta, Canada. We dwell partly in the city and partly―my favorite―in the country, so my projects run the gamut from sophisticated to undeniably casual with a little lake flavor thrown in. I celebrate family, love, cleverness & humor, and am always looking for ways to incorporate kindness and whimsy into our life and home. I’m a seasoned mom, dedicated friend, coffee & Swiss chocolate fiend, and a word/math/science nerd, and all of that gets woven into my projects. I am always, always in the process of making something…no, making somethingS…definitely plural…so many projects in the idea stage and in progress. If I were a PC, you might say I have a lot of windows open. Hee!

Over the years, I’ve always had a creative outlet of some kind―pottery, quiltmaking, theater, and writing, for example. A few years ago, a Silhouette cutting machine came into my life, so these days I’m having a blast trying new techniques and processes with it to create everything from paper crafts to furniture. Once the kids were grown and on their own, I had time to write about what I’m working on…the Whatcha Workin’ On? Blog was born. That was in June 2015, and things are not slowing down. I look forward to sharing my adventures with you!

Visit whatchaworkinon.com for cool Silhouette projects!Whatcha Workin’ On went live in June 2015 as a way to document my creative pursuits, particularly involving the Silhouette Cameo cutting machine, but not limited to Silhouette projects. It is a project-based blog with full tutorials, how-to’s and how-not-to’s, tips & tricks, free files, and perhaps a little inspiration. I particularly love discovering how products and tools can be used in unconventional ways.

Each post sees me diving into a new project. My goal is to provide enough information, tips & tricks & photos that you’ll be able to complete the project, too, if you want to. I share links to video tutorials, material sources, and free downloads, as well as links to patterns and cutting files I’ve created, all free for personal use.

You won’t find scheduled posts here. I write about what I’m working on and that’s driven by life, inspiration, and how complicated or simple the projects are. To catch every post, subscribe via email. When I post something new, I’ll send you an email (never more than once a week).

  1. I was wondering if I have a Cricut Gold Air (the new one that hooks to USB)….under some of the downloads I see SVG other I see Silhouette formats…like 2 of them….if I do not see SVG…etc are either of those compatible with my Cricut? Thanks a bunch I have enjoyed your blog!

    1. The SVG format is what you need for your Cricut. The other two files are Silhouette files, which will only work in the Silhouette machines. As you’ve noticed, not all of my files are available in SVG format…yet. I’ve just recently discovered how I can provide SVGs, so while new posts include an SVG option, I’m having to slowly work my way through the older posts to add them. If there are specific older files you’d like in SVG, send me an email eff at whatchaworkinon dot com and I’ll bump them to the top of the queue.
