Welcome to 2017! It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating Y2K…remember that? But—can you believe it?—that was 17 years ago already. I hope 2017 is a year of happy contentment for you, full of creative goodness, laughter, love, health, and success.
I want to thank you, dear readers, for joining me on my creative journey. I had no idea when I started this blog that so many other people would be interested in reading about my projects (175K+ in 2016…holy cow) I so enjoy all your comments and emails (keep ’em coming!), and I appreciate your Pinterest pins and Facebook likes & shares (keep them coming, too!). I’ve got all kinds of cool things to share with you this year—fun projects, amazing tips & tricks, and tutorials, tutorials, tutorials—so do drop in regularly, or better yet, subscribe so you don’t miss a thing.
With the New Year, I’ve made some changes around here. I may do a big design change later in 2017, but for now, I’ve given the walls a fresh coat of paint, rearranged the furniture a bit, and added some new decor. Well…this *is* a blog, so that translates into new graphics, new fonts, a rearranged navigation bar, revamped About Me section, and a photo of me. Yes, indeed, that’s my actual real-life mug you see in the sidebar instead of little cartoon Eff of 2016.
“Reader Survey”.. doesn’t that sound official? I’ve never done a reader survey before…new things for a new year! :^) It would be a tremendous help to me if you would take a few minutes to complete a little reader survey over at Survey Monkey. No personal info or anything like that, just questions about what you’d like to see on Whatcha Workin’ On and how it could work better for you. It’s super easy and quick. So look for the link in your next Whatcha Workin’ On newsletter and hop on over there and tick a few boxes, will ya? Thanks so much!
Remember how I said that 175,000 folks visited Whatcha Workin’ On last year? Well, it’s great to have so many visitors, but with that success comes the point at which I reach the maximum capacity for my file hosting service, my email notification service, my web hosting service, etc. To handle y’all, I have to upgrade to paid services. So…to keep the blog open to everyone and my files as free downloads, it’s time to see if this blog can help offset those costs.
You may have noticed the appearance of affiliate links in some of my posts. More will be rolled out over time. If you click on an affiliate link and buy something, you get it for the price you’d pay anyway (no extra cost to you), and I get a few dollars commission—we both win. In the near future, I may also get paid to use and/or review products, and write sponsored posts. Whenever free products and dollars are involved, I’ll be transparent and tell you. You can read my full disclosure policy here.
Now having said that, I must say that you can ALWAYS count on me for honest opinions and reviews, regardless of commission or other compensation. I calls ’em as I sees ’em, and will ALWAYS tell it like it is. I will ONLY link to or recommend products and services I think my readers will like, and that I know well, love, and would recommend to close friends and family. Honesty is a big thing in my book. I won’t compromise that in any way.
So… what do you think of all these changes?
Bring on the New Year!
